PAT AUBÉ GRAY
Pat Aubé Gray, is a self-taught realist continually striving for artistic excellence. Whether she is drawing or painting portraits, figuratives, landscapes, or still-lifes, the emphasis is always on light and form with clarity of concept. Equally comfortable with oil and watercolor, the artist also occasionally explores pastel, egg tempera and casein. In recent years, Pat's pursuit of excellence has included short-term study with such contemporary masters as Yuqi Wang, Daniel Greene, Burton Silverman, David Leffel, Richard Whitney, and Tony Ryder.
A teacher whose classes and workshops are sought after, Pat provides traditional theory-based and practical lectures, demonstrations, and critiques to her students, many of whom have been studying with her for years. Pat maintains a teaching studio in Blairsville, GA and has also given workshops in other locations.
Pat is resuming her painting an teaching in 2017 after a 6 year hiatus during whch she devoted her energy to other pursuits.
Also a writer, Pat's articles have appeared in several publications and have included interviews with Patricia Watwood, Juliette Aristides, David Leffel, Richard Whitney and Burton Silverman.
