Sandra Anderson earned a BFA from the University of California at Fullerton and works directly from life painting portraits, figures and landscapes in the plein air tradition. A versatile artist, Anderson paints in oils and pastels. She has served as a contractor to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and has organized and participated in plein air events across the country. Sandra is a member of the Plein Air Painters of Georgia and exhibits regularly across the Southeast. A resident of Marietta, Anderson is represented by several galleries and her work is awarded and collected nationally.

Elizabeth Bame graduated from Andrews University, in Berrien Springs, MI with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in 1989. She studied with internationally trained artist Chris di Domizio for over eight years, as well as taking several workshops. Her work has been widely exhibited, and has won a numerous awards including acceptance into the Red Cinder Artist-in-Residence program in 2003.

Thomas Bateman was born in Augusta, Georgia and began drawing and painting at age five. His formal training in art began at the Gertude Herbert Memorial Institute of Art. Mr. Bateman is a graduate of the Art Institute of Atlanta where he received Best Portfolio Award. Mr. Bateman offers Traditional Oil Paintings and Graphite Drawings for commission. His work has been shown in Skirt Magazine, The Atlanta Journal and Constitution and The Augusta Chronicle Herald.

A native of Atlanta; married since 1970; two adult children; Tim painted his first oil in 1962, but began in earnest in the 1990s. Virtually self-taught, he began working with a local artist, Gregory Johnson, in 1999. He is currently studying with Jim Schell and Marc Chatov. His favorite and most challenging works are portraits but enjoys still life, landscapes, and anything else that catches his eye.

Evelyn grew up in New York and won her first citywide competitive art award in sixth grade. She has a BFA degree and art teaching certification from SUNY at Buffalo. In 1980, Evelyn moved to Atlanta and worked as a graphic designer, eventually returning to figure painting in oils and pastels. She currently paints commissioned portraits, figures, and landscapes. Her work has won many awards and hangs in private collections across the country.

Donna Williams Colleran is a painter of traditional classical portraits. She began her career as a Graphic Designer, Art Director and Freelance Illustrator in Washington, DC. After moving to Atlanta in 1982 Donna began studying portrait painting with nationally renowned artists such as Nelson Shanks, Everett Kinstler and Daniel Greene. Donna is an award winning member of the Portrait Society of Atlanta, the Atlanta Fine Arts League and the Portrait Society of America.

Originally from Florida, Dede graduated from the University of Denver with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Painting, and a Degree in Art Education from the University of Colorado. Over the years, she has continued to study painting through classes and workshops. She is a member of the Atlanta Artists Center and Atlanta Fine Arts League. Working in watercolor, oil and acrylic, Dede has exhibited in juried shows in Colorado and Georgia.

Jennifer, a native of Savannah, Georgia, has been featured in magazines worldwide. Renown for artwork and design for rugs, textiles and home furnishing accessories, she received several prestigious awards including the Roscoe award, the design industry’s Oscar. Jennifer was "Stylemaker 1994" AJC and included in the DIFFA Design for Neiman Marcus.

A graduate of the University of Georgia and Parsons School of Design, NYC, Jennifer has studied with many professionals including Scott Burdick, Rosetta Santiago, David Leffel and Jim Schell. Her paintings are in many prominent collections in the United States, Europe and South and Central America.

Carol Kelly Dorn is an award-winning artist who received her art degree from Georgia Southern University. She is interested in all forms of art & has been painting & drawing portraits in various media for over 20 years. In 2004, she experienced the rare opportunity to spend 3 weeks at the Musee du Louvre in Paris to recreate a copy of an Old Master's painting on site. The Art from the Heart Project is particularly close to Carol's own heart, since her father, Major Charles Kelly, a Dustoff medivac helicopter pilot, was killed in Vietnam as he attempted, under fire, to rescue wounded soldiers. She resides in Evans, Georgia.

Nancy Ellison Everett

Nancy Everett graduated from the University of Georgia with a BFA. During her studies at UGA, she studied art abroad in Cortona, Italy. Working primarily in oil and pastel, exploration of color remains the single most important thing that influences her subject matter selection, and for that reason her work is considered impressionistic in style. Nancy has been juried into over 30 regional and national shows. She is a member of the Southeastern Pastel Society and a juried member of the Atlanta Artists Center. She was recently selected to be an artist in residence in Breckenridge, Colorado.

Atlanta native Lisa Gleim-Jonas is an award winning artist and a graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. She is a highly sought after portrait artist for both her children and pet portraits. Aside from portraiture, she is also an accomplished landscape painter. Both can be found in private collections throughout the east coast, including Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, the chambers of the honorable vice-chancelor Jack B. Jacobs and Astra-Zeneca Pharmaceutical Company.

Born in New York, Pat Aubé Gray lived in Maine, Texas, and Florida working in fine and commercial art as well as corporate business. In 1998 she moved to Blairsville, Georgia and resumed painting full-time. Self-taught, Pat Aubé Gray paints realistic still lifes, landscapes, figurative and portraits in several media. Recently, she has attended workshops with several highly regarded artists. The winner of many prestigious awards her paintings are in U.S. and European collections.

Larry Hall of Atlanta served in combat in Vietnam as an Army Captain and was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service against hostile forces. Larry volunteers for a number of non-profit organizations, including Studio Incamminati, realist studio in Philadelphia, and has served on the board or as an officer of several others. Artists with whom Larry has worked include Nelson Shanks, Burt Silverman, Albert Handell, Tony Ryder and Anne Emerson Hall.

Award winning Atlanta artist and graduate of the University of Georgia, Leah Hopkins Henry is a professional portrait painter who has been creating portraits since age 10. Landscape, still life and figures are other subjects that she paints. Henry has studied portraiture with internationally known artists Daniel Greene and David Leffel and her paintings can be found in many private and corporate collections throughout the U.S. She receives numerous commissions of children, adults and pets.

Dominique is a native of France and a former executive in the International Hospitality business. She decided to return to her first love of portraiture and has been painting people and animals ever since. Her paintings are found in numerous private collections zin Atlanta, Washington, DC, the West Coast and France. She has studied with numerous nationally renowned artists and is a member of the Portrait Society of America and Portrait Society of Atlanta.

After obtaining a BA in Visual Arts in 1992, Shane began working full-time as a freelance graphic designer, illustrator and art instructor while pursuing his interest in drawing and painting people. Vivian Moody, an Atlanta artist, heard about the Art from the Heart Program and felt compelled to volunteer for such a worthwhile endeavor. She paints in both oil and pastels and combines a slightly impressionistic background with a higher lever of detail in the face. She is equally as comfortable painting both human faces as well as those of horses and canine friends.

Sherry Needle studied at the State University of Iowa and at The American Academy of Art in Chicago where she received a solid background in drawing, anatomy and painting. Later, she moved to Atlanta and worked as a freelance artist while raising a family. As a member of Atlanta Pen Women, Atlanta Artists Center, Quinlan Visual Arts Center, Portrait Society of Atlanta, Portrait Society of America and the Atlanta Fine Arts League, she has won numerous awards.

Sivananda (Siva) has a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, India. Siva moved his family to Atlanta in 1996 and he started his pursuit of art again in 1997. Siva is a juried member of the Portrait Society of Atlanta and served as a board member for two years. His paintings can be found in numerous collections both locally and abroad. Siva has been teaching art for the past two years.

Missouri native Lois M. Pahl has been painting for over forty years. She is an award winning artist and her artwork is in private collections throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. Ms. Pahl has been teaching art for thirty-five years and at 75, she has no intention of slowing down. She enjoys painting wildlife, landscape, and portraits of people and pets.Being married to a Marine, this project was quite special to her.

Kathleen Ryan started oil painting at age 11. She later graduated from the State University of New York with her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with Cum Laude Honors. Though she paints landscapes and still-life, her passion is with portraits. She is an award-winning oil painter who often takes first place, best of show, and people's choice. Her commissioned works can be found all over North America. She has completed portraits of families as well as professionals. One of her most cherished experiences was in donating portraits to the families of fallen soldiers as a member of the Fine Arts League. Kathleen's works have the ability to reach people and make them happy. She enjoys sharing her artistic gift of oil painting through exhibitions and commissions. Her talent and love for the arts shows in every brush stroke.

After studies in both music and art, Bayberry found a new avenue for her creative energies by capturing macro shots of flowers with her camera. Her love of painting has been reignited by painting the best of her macro photographs. She has been actively expanding her portfolio and participating in juried local and national art events. She has collected thousands of photographs of unique flowers while traveling to over 40 countries and has selected the most worthy to recreate in paint.

Bayberry lives between Atlanta, Amsterdam and Helsinki while her husband works as a consultant.

After an initial foray into equestrian art and portraiture in the late 80’s and early 90’s, Charles then spent a decade eschewing the public eye while honing his painting skills in the commercial arena. In the last few years, he has returned to the field of portraiture and other fine art.

He enjoys a growing reputation as an award winning painter and has exhibited in numerous shows in the South, as well as Texas, New England, Colorado and New York City. In their November 2009 issue, he was featured as one of Southwest Art Magazine’s "21 Over 31" Emerging Artists of 2009. Charles and his wife currently live in the Atlanta area. Geraldine Zaki has worked in oil over thirty years with a variety of subject matters including portraiture, still life, and plein air landscape. Her paintings are in corporate and private collections throughout the U.S. and Europe. She is a Past President of the Portrait Society of Atlanta. Ms. Zaki has studied portrait and figure painting with several of the leading national realist painters. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from the Plymouth State University.
